In our village, honey was never sold. It was given.
My family is from Champawat, Uttarakhand. There, honey meant comb cut straight from the hive. We gave jars to relatives as a token of love. No one ever put a price on it.

Then I moved to the city, and the honey changed.
In Delhi, I learned honey is one of India's most adulterated foods. The honey I grew up on was the exception.

Why does HimSotra cost more than supermarket honey?
Because cheap honey cuts corners: syrup, heating, blending. Ours comes from a single forest harvest, not blended bulk honey. Every batch is NMR tested in France and lab tested before it's jarred, and the beekeeper is paid fairly.
My honey has crystallised. Is it fake?
No. Raw honey crystallises naturally, especially in cold weather. Stand the jar in warm, not hot, water to make it liquid again.
What is an NMR test?
NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) reads honey's molecular fingerprint. It catches the sugar syrups that basic tests miss, which is how adulterated honey can still pass basic checks.
Where do I find my batch ID?
It's printed on your jar's label. Enter it in "Check your batch report" to see its village, beekeeper, harvest month and lab reports.
Can diabetics eat honey?
No. Honey still contains glucose and fructose, which aren't recommended for diabetic or pre-diabetic people. Any brand selling honey as safe for diabetics is misleading you.
